The people you would actually speak to

A small bench of advisers who have walked nurses through these programmes. No one here is on commission, and no one here works for a university.

We are a consultation practice, not a recruiter. Our advisers work across seventeen online nursing programmes, which is precisely what allows any of them to tell you a school is wrong for you.

Marisol Vega

MSN, RN — Lead enrolment adviser

Advising nurses since 2011

Fifteen years on medical-surgical floors before moving into advising. Handles the first call for most nurses weighing GCU, and is the person most likely to tell you to look somewhere else.

Dane Okafor

DNP, FNP-BC — Clinical placement adviser

Advising nurses since 2014

Works the practicum question: what supply looks like in your county, which sites take students, and how early a search has to start to be worth anything.

Priya Raghunathan

MSN, RN — Transfer credit adviser

Advising nurses since 2013

Reads transcripts for a living. Spends most of her week explaining why a lower-division cap matters more than a headline credit allowance.

Elliot Brandt

MSN, RN-BC — Programme adviser

Advising nurses since 2016

Maps programme structures against real shift patterns. Built the weekly load model this site uses, out of frustration with how it is usually presented.

Yolanda Prieto

DNP, PMHNP-BC — Advanced practice adviser

Advising nurses since 2012

Advises nurses heading for nurse practitioner tracks, where the placement question decides far more than the tuition figure does.

Callum Reyes

MSN, RN — Coursework adviser

Advising nurses since 2017

Knows what a topic actually demands week to week, and writes most of the workload material here.

How we are paid, plainly

We are a consultation practice. The consultation is free and carries no obligation, and no adviser is paid differently depending on which school you pick. If you go on to want help with coursework or with a placement, that is a separate conversation you choose to have — or do not.

We say this on the team page rather than burying it, because "independent" is a word every lead-generation site uses and almost none of them can back.

How we check what we publish

  • Every figure on this site is taken from Grand Canyon University's own published material or its support documentation, and carries the month it was checked.
  • Where a policy is quoted, it is quoted rather than paraphrased, so you can weigh the wording yourself.
  • We do not publish a fact we could not source. Where something is a working estimate — hours a week, for instance — the page says so in those words.
  • Every article carries a named adviser who stands behind it, and a date. If we get something wrong we correct the page and say so in the newsletter.
  • We hold no commercial relationship with GCU or with any university on this site, and no adviser is paid differently depending on where you enrol.

Put your own situation to someone with nothing riding on it

Twenty minutes, free, and no one on this side earns anything whichever school you land on. We will tell you to stay where you are when that is the right answer.
