What GCU actually costs
Most of this network exists to find the catch in a school's pricing. Here there is less of one than usual, and saying so is part of being worth listening to.
GCU is genuinely one of the lower-priced accredited routes for a working nurse. The things worth checking are not hidden fees - they are which rate you are being quoted, and how much credit you bring with you.
The freeze is real, and narrower than it sounds
GCU's tuition freeze is a genuine and unusual commitment, and it applies to campus tuition. Online rates are set on their own footing. That is not a trick - GCU publishes both - but the headline travels further than the detail, and prospects routinely assume it covers them when it does not.
The number that actually moves your total
It is not the per-credit rate. It is how many credits you do not have to pay for, which is decided by your transfer evaluation. A nurse arriving with a full associate transcript and one arriving with a partial one are quoted the same rate and pay very different totals.
Settle that before you enrol. It is the single largest variable in the decision, and it is knowable in advance.

Where the cost is not money
The other cost is your week. Two discussion questions a topic plus a written assignment is a real demand on a working roster, and it doubles if you carry two courses. That is the trade GCU asks for in exchange for the price.
